Youth Works have an amazing team of dedicated and enthusiastic staff and volunteers who help ensure all services are delivered effectively.
We currently have no vacancies.
Volunteers play a key role in the delivery of our services: assisting with the delivery of activities in our youth clubs, providing classroom support to learners, providing counselling to young people and helping behind the scenes with administration.
Everyone has their own reasons for wanting to volunteer with our organisation. Reasons may include:
- To develop skills and learn something new
- To increase work experience which could lead on to paid work in the future
- To meet new people and be part of a diverse, friendly team
- To use your skills to inspire others
- To improve self-esteem and confidence
- To support children, young people and their families in your local community
What support will I receive?
You will receive a full induction into the organisation and training relevant to the area(s) you wish to volunteer in.
You will be offered peer support from an experienced member of staff or volunteer and you will also have regular meetings with your appointed Line Manager to discuss any queries, concerns or ideas that you have.
Will I be paid?
As a volunteer you are not paid for the hours you work. However, we value our volunteers and want to ensure that there are no barriers to volunteer involvement so you will have your travel and other agreed expenses reimbursed.
How do I apply to be a volunteer?
In order to volunteer you will need to complete an application form and undergo a criminal records check with the Disclosure and Barring Service. Once you have completed the application form we will arrange for you to have a short interview and will seek references from the people you have identified on the form.
